I was prescribed antiinflammation pills to assist with mobility and reduce pain from a knee injury due to a car accident in 2018.  I continued using the meds until November 2020 when I began Pilates.  This helped me a little, but my reliance on the medication continued.


I began BoxFit at Storm Combat twice weekly In October 2021 to increase my fitness and general health.  These classes helped me with general strength and fitness but also had aggravated the pain to some extent. 


I began joining Coach Dom’s morning classes at Storm Combat around August 2022. I was very nervous about the HIIT classes, but Dom would always encourage me to do some form of regression rather than give up on a particular exercise.  My fitness and mobility have improved so drastically that I no longer use pain meds.  I have ventured into doing other forms of self-defence at Storm (including BJJ, Krav Maga and boxing).


My knee does act up if I injure it specifically while training.  However, I am no longer dependent on meds. I feel stronger and healthier.


My other goal with the training regime is to do something special with my son and it has helped us become closer.  He has joined us some mornings and Dom would develop a training programme on the fly to support his goals as a soccer player.


What I also admire about Dom is how he is willing to accept that all bodies are different and there is no standard approach to fitness.  He takes time to explain how we should breathe, and which muscles should be working. 


I wholeheartedly endorse Dom as a trainer.
